Easy Bread for Beginners

Ingredients (1/2 recipe, one loaf)

3.5 cups       Bread Flour

1.5 cups       Water

1 tbs              Instant Yeast

1.5 tsp          Salt

1 tbs              Oil

Process

1)     Dissolve yeast in water.

2)     Mix in flour, salt, and oil.

3)     Turn out on board and knead for about 8 min.

4)     Cover with a towel and rest for about 3 min.

5)     Preshape: dust w/ flour, flatten a little, then form a ball by folding in the edges.

6)     Place in mixing bowl, dust w/ flour, cover and rise for about 1 hour.

7)     On board, (if making two loafs, divide), preshape, flatten slightly and fold edged in to for ball.  Cover and rest for about 15 min.

8)     Grease loaf pan.

9)     Final shaping, dust, flip, flatten a little, and fold sides in to form a triangle (base same width as pan), roll into loaf.  Pinch in bottom seam and ends. Dust loaf and rise in loaf pan 1 hr.  Set timer for 30 min.

10)  Preheat oven to 400° 30 min. before bake.

11)  Bake @ 400° for 40 min.

12)  Brush tops with butter to keep them soft for sandwich bread.
